The William & Florence Schmidt Art Center at Southwestern Illinois College offers a unique, upscale location for professional and social events.

Schmidt Art Center Galleries

Entertain guests in elegant, art-filled galleries. If you are hosting a special event, reception or dinner party and want a convenient, upscale location - book the Schmidt Art Center Galleries.

Galleries included in the rental are the Billie Jean and John H. Marsh, the Sharon and DeWayne Cox, the John and Peg Schmidt, and the R. Gordon and Betty Reiners. The Gary and Lucia Graham Lounge is also included.

• Four galleries provide ample room for 150 standing guest to comfortably mingle.
• The Marsh Gallery allows up to 100 guests to enjoy an elegant sit-down dinner.
• The landscaped patio and gardens invite guests to walk outside where they can enjoy monumental sculptures.
• Original works of art on the gallery walls create a one-of-a-kind setting for any party.

Gallery Rates

Rental rates include all public areas in the building, except the Erlinger Conference Room.

6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Weekday Evenings .......... $600
The art center is open to the public on Thursday evenings
6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Saturday Evening ............ $750
1:00 - 4:00 p.m., Sunday Afternoon ............ $750

Food, tables, linens and other special amenities are billed separately.

Dining

Dining is part of the experience at the Schmidt Art Center. Your selected menu will be freshly prepared by ARAMARK, the exclusive food service provider of the college. Contact the Foundation Office at 618.235.2700, extension 5215 for a complete menu of fine dining options.

Erlinger Conference Room

Enjoy a unique meeting space in the Schmidt Art Center - Erlinger Conference Room. This special light-filled room enhanced with original art is designed to meet the needs of the business community.

• The 600-square-foot meeting room has a capacity for up to 16 around the E-Table that is equipped with bays for Internet access
• An LED Projector and Smart Board help engage your guests in the topic at hand.
• Casual seating areas, art galleries and a landscaped patio allow for relaxing breaks.
• Large pieces of original art on the conference room walls and multiple large windows overlooking the sculpture garden inspire creativity.
