Looking at Sculpture

The questions that have been included on this SculpTour may be used when looking at any sculpture such as the St. Louis Gateway Arch or the statue in front of the Saint Louis Art Museum. Whether the sculpture is abstract or includes realistic images, the same questions may be asked.

Go on a SculpTour of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Take a close look at what you see and ask some of the same questions. Look at the texture, shape, color, and form from all sides.  Look at the way the light helps to define the form. Enjoy yourself.
