Mrs. Barton was one of the daughters of William and Florence Schmidt.

"Reach" is 14' H with water flowing from the top of the sculpture down into the first pool and from there into a second pool of large rocks. Illuminated at night, the work was specifically commissioned for this site on the west side of the William & Florence Schmidt Art Center.

Elegant, contemporary aesthetic, combined with his absolutely flawless technique, make Held's fountains the choice of private and corporate collectors worldwide. Held's stunning abstract works in bronze and stainless steel are superbly engineered, timeless and truly exquisite.

He earned his undergraduate degree in painting, sculpture and graphic arts and his graduate degree in sculpture form UCLA. Held won the Jim Marcelius Memorial Scholarship Award for Sculpture in 1980.
