How to Submit Work
To have your work considered for an exhibit at the Schmidt Art Center, please submit 12 - 20 digital images on a CD, along with an image list, artist statement and résumé listing previous exhibits, awards, and education. No Power Point, please.
The Schmidt Art Center Exhibition Committee meets a year in advance to review proposals and recommend exhibits. We welcome proposals year-round.
Exhibition Committee
To accomplish the Schmidt's mission of presenting visual images that inspire, inform, and connect people and ideas, the Schmidt Art Center Executive Director will convene an exhibit committee to suggest and review proposed exhibits. The purpose of this committee will be to guide the Art Center staff in selecting a balanced schedule of high-quality art exhibits by professional artists.
The committee will be composed of a minimum of six persons, including SWIC Liberal Arts Dean, art faculty, community members, Schmidt Art Center staff, and optional advisors from other museums or galleries.
The committee will meet at least one year in advance to make recommendations. Schmidt staff will prepare an exhibition calendar for the year based on these recommendations, adding other exhibits when necessary to complete the schedule.
